
Us & Them
I’m co-hosting the translator/writer series Us & Them at Molasses Books in Bushwick. Four translators from French will read from their work, including selections from a special feature on poetry from France that I edited in the spring issue of Atlanta Review.
Past events
October 2024: I read my translations of two poems by Gabriel Zimmermann at the After Hours Café at the annual conference of the American Translators Association in Portland. A selection of my translations of his work was published in Issue 10 of World Poetry Review.
April 2024: I enjoyed reading my poem “Why I’m Making Scones,” published in Presence, as part of the wonderful One Poet, One Poem reading at the Calvin Festival of Faith & Writing.
November 2023: My poem “Pinned” was named an honorable mention in the 2023 Passager Poetry Contest. I had a chance to read it at the Passager Journal issue launch on November 12 via Zoom.
October 2023: I read an excerpt from my translation of the eighteenth-century tale Double Game by Louis de Cahusac at the Literary Division’s After Hours Café during the annual conference of the American Translators Association in Miami.
June 2023: On June 29, I had the pleasure of participating in the launch reading for Jed Myers‘ chapbook The Arcane Mechanics of Constant Lift from Sheila-Na-Gig Editions. I read two poems, “On Buying a Piece of Water Buffalo Horn as a Chew Toy for my Dog” and “Magnolia Warbler in Central Park.” Here’s a clip:
